Respiratory Medicine's Overview:
Pulmonary Medicine is a sub-specialty of Internal Medicine, that covers diseases pertaining to respiratory system, dealing with diagnosis and management of disorders related to pulmonary parenchymal, vascular, airway and pleural spaces. It also deals with management of various sleep related disorders.
The Department of Pulmonary Medicine, SSIMSRC focuses on providing high quality care for patients with various respiratory problems from well trained and experienced team of Pulmonologists. The department is well equipped with facilities like Spirometry, Bronchoscopy including Level I sleep lab. It also provides quality post graduate teaching and training.
Objectives of the department:
- To provide the highest possible quality of outpatient and inpatient care to the patients with pulmonary disorders.
- To provide training and teaching of high standards to undergraduate and post graduate students.
- To carry out research oriented activities in the field of pulmonary disorders.
