The field of research is a driving force of the SSIMS & RC. The excellence of its competencies in all scientific fields was recognized. The SSIMS & RC welcomes almost hundreds of PhD students, currently has 260 joint thesis agreements running, boasts 20 international associated laboratories and much more.

Students play an active and important role in SSIMS & RC life. Students are also involved in the annual appraisal of the teaching staff and become active members of cultural or faculty associations, all contributing in their own way to keeping the university "on the move". There are in total over 135 student associations within the SSIMS & RC.

The SSIMS & RC has one of the largest campuses (130 acres) in India. It is composed of several sites that are located near to the city and that offer a wide range of services and amenities.

We serve a diverse population of students, from recent high school graduates starting here on their path to a bachelor's degree, to adults looking to change careers. We seek to empower our community through education, one individual at a time. More than 90 percent of our graduates remain in the area and strengthen our local economy. It is our mission to prepare Philadelphians for a new career or transfer to a four-year college so that they can achieve their educational and career goals.
