The Department of Orthopaedics at SSIMS&RC is MCI Recognised Post graduate & Undergraduate training centre since 2014. Dept of Orthopaedics provides personalised attentive affordable care for all. We conduct an average of hundred Major surgeries and attended more than three thousand out patients per month. our Department has advanced infrastructure and highly skilled manpower to handle polytrauma and seriously injured patients with benefits from the leadership of senior consultants with vast surgical & clinical experience around the clock. Specialized surgeries like Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, Arthroscopic surgeries , Spine surgeries and limb Reconstruction surgery, Illizarov & Paediatric orthopaedic surgeries are done regularly in our department . All major and minor surgeries are conducted in highly sophisticated and state of the art operation theatres using latest surgical equipments , image intensifiers, operative microscope and internationally standardized Instrumentation. The OT theaters has direct audio-visual connection to central auditorium , student can watch live surgeries on regular basis.. Our team has vast experience in Under Graduate and Post Graduate student teaching programs which are guided by MCI protocols.Undergraduate Students are taught about basic orthopaedic skills and management of regular cases .Post graduates are extensively trained in all field of orthopaedics from casualty to operation theator to rehabilitation centre.They also benefit from modern seminar hall with audiovisual aids, well stocked departmental library, and hands on workshop lab. We also support basic research , publication & academic activities in orthopaedics.
