Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology at SSIMS&RC has successfully organized one day state level CME on a theme of “LEGAL ISSUES IN CLINICAL PRACTICE” on Saturday 8th June 2019 at S.S Hospital Auditorium. At the CME, about 400 members of registered delegates took part along with all the faculty of SSIMS&RC. These registered delegates include private practitioners, Government medical officers. Specialty consultants, taluku and district hospital doctors, dentists, AYUSH Doctors, Nursing staffs, PG’s, Interns, Police officers, Lawyers and FSL staff. The CME inaugural function was organized after the two pre inaugural scientific sessions. Dr.Vijayakumar B Jatti has welcomed the gathering. The inauguration of CME was done by two of chief guests Sri.Kulkarni Ambadas G., Principal Judge, District & session court, Davangere and Sri.Chethan R., Superintendent of Police, Davangere District. The other dignitaries over the dias include Dr. B.S. Reddy, (Principal, RL Law College, Davangere), Smt. S. Nagashri (Addition Judge District & sessions courts Davangere), Dr. B.S. Prasad, Principal SSIMS&RC, Dr.Arunkumar Ajjappa ( Vice-Principal), Dr.Vijayakumar B Jatti (Organizing Chairman), Dr.Sunil S. Kadam (Organizing Secretary) along with KMC Observer Dr. C S Santhosh, (Professor & HOD, Dept of Forensic Medicine, JJMMC, Davangere). Chief guests addressed the gathering and principal sir delivered key note address. Dr. Sunil S. Kadam delivered vote of thanks to conclude the inaugural function.

Panel & Open Discussion was arranged at the end of the programme where, all the Guest Speakers with Dr. B.S. Reddy (Principal, RL. Law College,Davangere) & Sri. Udesh T.J, (Add. SP, Davangere District) and Dr.Lingegowda (Assistant director & senior scientist at toxicology section, RFSL Davangere) took part as panelists and was moderated by Dr.Shankar Bakkannavar. Many delegates got the answer and solutions to their practical doubts while handling MLC’s.
All the delegates gave good feedback about the CME programme. The same was published subsequently in press by the most of leading news papers and electronic media.
