Physiology CME/Conferences:

“Pulmonary Function Tests & Respiratory Disorders” on 30th April 2016

Department of Physiology conducted a CME programme on “Pulmonary Function Tests & Respiratory Disorders” at S.S.Auditorium, SSIMS Hospital block, Davangere on 30/04/2016, Saturday. Two credit hours was allotted by KMC for the CME

The theme of the CME was “Healthy Lung: Healthy Body”. It included the detailed description of various pulmonary function tests, their diagnostic & therapeutic role in the assessment of physiologic abnormalities & likely underlying pathology.

Dr.D.V.Deshpande, Prof & HOD, Dept of Physiology SSIMS&RC, was the organizing chairman. Dr.Ashwini, Asst Prof. Dept of Physiology, JJMMC was the KMC observer. Dr.B.S.Prasad, Principal, SSIMS&RC presided over the inauguration. Dr.Vidya M Nadiger welcomed the gathering. Dr.Renu Lohitashwa delivered the vote of thanks.

“Physiology of Stress and Approach to De Stress on 3rd Feb 2018

The program began with a scientific session by Dr. Jayasudha. K, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology, SSIMS & RC on “Physiology of Stress”. The next speaker was Dr. Rajeev Swamy who discussed on “Stress and its Manifestations”. This was followed by inaugural function, which was presided over by Dr. Arunkumar Ajjappa, Vice Principal and graced by Dr. N K Kalappanavar, Medical Director. Dr. D. V. Deshpande, organizing chairman welcomed the august gathering and Dr. Vidya M. Nadiger thanked.

The highlight of the CME was “Demonstration of simple yogic techniques to de stress” by Yogacharya Ashok. V. K. who demonstrated simple breathing techniques and different ways of chanting Omkara to the audience.

CME & Workshop on “Nerve Conduction Study & Electromyography”

A State level CME & Workshop on “Nerve Conduction Study & Electromyography”was organised by Dr Vidya M Nadiger, Organising Chairman & Dr Soumya B A, Organising Secretary along with Dr SuneetaKalasuramath, Dr Jayasudha K & Dr RenuLohitashwa with the support of other staff and management of SSIMS & RC on 1st February 2020.

The CME & Workshop included the description of the fundamental overview of the role of Clinical Neurophysiology in diseases of the nervous system as well as showcase the recent advancements and latest technology in this field in addition to providing hands on training in nerve conduction study and electromyography. Around 59 delegates participated in the CME & Workshop and took active part in the scientific deliberations.

CME “How Safe is Young Heart?”

State Level Continued Medical Education on “ How Safe is Young Heart?” was organised by Department of Physiology in association with Department of Cardiology, S S Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre on 7th May 2022. Dr Prasad BS, Principal, SSIMS & RC, Dr Arun Kumar Ajjappa, Medical Director, Dr Vidya M Nadiger, Prof & HOD, Dept. of Physiology presided over the inauguration function. The CME included the description of the fundamental overview of the causes, risk factors, clinical presentation, recent advancements, and latest technology in the investigation and prevention of myocardial infarction in young adults. 149 delegates from different hospitals, PHCs, Postgraduates and faculty from different medical colleges all over Karnataka participated in the CME.
